State Government fulfils long-pending demand, upgrades Rajim to Municipal Council

Raipur, July 14, 2026/ The state government has upgraded Rajim Nagar Panchayat to a Municipal Council, fulfilling a long-pending demand of the town’s residents. The Urban Administration and Development Department has issued a notification to this effect. The existing jurisdiction of Rajim Nagar Panchayat will constitute the limits of the newly constituted Municipal Council.

Welcoming the decision, Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Arun Sao said the upgradation would provide fresh impetus to Rajim’s planned urban development and enable greater investment in civic infrastructure. He said the move would accelerate the development of roads, drains, drinking water supply, sanitation, street lighting, parks, community buildings and other basic urban amenities, while ensuring more effective implementation of central and state government schemes for the benefit of residents.
