Chief Minister Shri Sai expresses deep grief over Vedanta power plant accident in Sakti, orders probe
Raipur, 14 April 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has expressed deep sorrow over the accident caused by a boiler explosion at the Vedanta Power Plant located in Singhitrai of Sakti district. Describing the incident as extremely painful and heart-wrenching, he paid tribute to the deceased and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the news of the death of workers and several people being injured in the accident is extremely distressing. He prayed to almighty to grant peace to the departed souls and strength to their families to bear this irreparable loss.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that immediately after receiving information about the incident, instructions were given to the district administration to reach the spot and begin relief and rescue operations without delay. At present, relief work is being carried out swiftly under administrative supervision, and prompt and appropriate medical treatment is being provided to the injured.
He directed officials to ensure that there is no shortcoming in the treatment of the injured and that better medical facilities are provided as required. He also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The Chief Minister made it clear that a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident will be conducted. He stated that strict action will be ensured against those found guilty.
The Chief Minister has directed that all necessary safety measures be reviewed to prevent recurrence of such incidents in the future and that strict compliance with safety standards be ensured in industrial units.
