Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai releases 29th instalment; ₹ 626.25 crore transferred to over 66 lakh women through DBT
Raipur, July 11, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday released the 29th instalment of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, transferring ₹ 626.25 crore through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the bank accounts of more than 66 lakh women across Chhattisgarh from his official residence here.
Congratulating the beneficiaries, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said the scheme has emerged as a symbol of women’s dignity, financial independence and economic empowerment. He said the state government remains committed to increasing women’s participation in the economy and making them financially self-reliant.
With the latest release, the government has transferred a cumulative ₹ 18,805.83 crore directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries in 29 instalments under the scheme, he said.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said the Chhattisgarh Government is implementing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of women’s empowerment with full commitment. Recalling his interactions with women during visits across the state, he said many beneficiaries had shared how the monthly assistance had transformed their lives.
Many women have used the financial assistance to start small businesses, while others have taken up tailoring, embroidery and other self-employment activities. Several families have utilised the support for their children’s education, healthcare and other essential household needs. These experiences, he said, reflect the scheme’s success and its long-term social impact.
Shri Sai said the government is complementing the Mahtari Vandan Yojana with initiatives such as Lakhpati Didi to enhance women’s incomes and promote financial self-reliance. He directed officials to complete the e-KYC process at the earliest to ensure that every eligible woman receives the benefits of the scheme, with special emphasis on expediting the exercise in Bastar division.
Launched on March 1, 2024, Mahtari Vandan Yojana provides eligible married women aged 21 years and above with monthly financial assistance of ₹ 1,000 through direct transfer to their bank accounts. Besides providing regular financial support, the scheme has helped strengthen household nutrition, support children’s education and healthcare, combat malnutrition and anaemia, and encourage women to take up self-employment.
