Improved roads, transport infrastructure and faster clearances to benefit trade, farmers and employment

Raipur, May 14, 2026/ Chhattisgarh has been recognized as a ‘High Performer’ in the LEADS 2025 report released by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), marking another milestone in the state’s push towards infrastructure-led growth and good governance. The ranking reflects improvements in logistics, transport systems, road connectivity and ease of doing business, with growing impact on trade, agriculture, investment and employment generation across the state.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said the government’s focus is not limited to industrial expansion alone, but also on improving everyday life for people across the state. Better roads and transport connectivity are helping farmers move produce to markets faster, strengthening trade activity and creating new employment opportunities for youth.

He added that good governance, transparency and faster decision making have also contributed to rising investor interest in the state. He said the government is continuing it’s efforts to strengthen connectivity from villages to urban centres, expand warehousing facilities and create a more industry-friendly environment.

Industry Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan said logistics and transportation systems in the state are being modernized, benefiting not only industries but also small traders, farmers and local entrepreneurs.

Meanwhile, under the state’s Logistics Policy 2025, several measures have been introduced to reduce transportation costs, improve freight movement and attract investment. The government has also granted industry status to the logistics and warehousing sector, a move expected to create fresh opportunities for employment and investment.

A city logistics plan prepared for Raipur is aimed at reducing traffic congestion and streamlining movement of goods within the city. At the same time, industrial approvals are being facilitated through the OneClick Single Window Portal, designed to simplify and speed up clearances for investors.

Commerce and Industry Department Secretary Shri Rajat Kumar said Chhattisgarh is rapidly building a modern and technology-driven logistics ecosystem that is expected to accelerate trade, industry and employment growth in the state. This achievement reflects Chhattisgarh’s growing position as an emerging centre for industry and investment.

The ‘High Performer’ recognition in the LEADS 2025 report is being seen as more than just a ranking for Chhattisgarh. It reflects growing national recognition for the state’s expanding infrastructure, good governance and development-focused policy approach. With improvements in road connectivity, transport systems, investment flow and employment opportunities, Chhattisgarh is steadily shaping a growth model centred on public convenience and economic progress.
