Chhattisgarh’s Amita Shrivas Aims for Everest Summit: Chief Minister Shri Sai Hails Her Grit and Determination

Raipur, April 6, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has extended his heartfelt wishes to Ms Amita Shrivas, a young mountaineer from Janjgir-Champa district, for her upcoming Mount Everest expedition.

During a meeting held today at the Chief Minister’s residence in Raipur, Shri Sai noted that Ms Shrivas is set to depart for Kathmandu on April 9 with the resolve to hoist the Indian Tricolour atop Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak. He remarked that her journey is not merely a personal milestone, but a soaring expression of the aspirations, courage and self-belief of the entire state of Chhattisgarh.

Highlighting the significance of her endeavour, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that her expedition stands as a testament to the idea that no summit remains unattainable when determination is unwavering. He observed that the daughters of the state are consistently setting new benchmarks across diverse fields through their talent and perseverance, thereby shaping a renewed identity for Chhattisgarh.

Shri Sai further pointed out that Ms Amita Shrivas had earlier demonstrated her grit and capability by scaling Mount Kilimanjaro in 2021 on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Her continued pursuit of excellence is not only an achievement in itself but also a living source of inspiration for the youth of the state, especially young women.

Expressing confidence in her success, the Chief Minister stated that Ms Shrivas will accomplish this challenging mission and unfurl the national flag atop the world’s highest peak, bringing pride to Chhattisgarh and the nation at large.

On behalf of the people of the state, Shri Sai conveyed his best wishes to Ms Amita Shrivas for this significant expedition and prayed for her bright and successful future.
