Chhattisgarh Gets Two DM Cardiology Seats; People to Benefit from Better Treatment
Doctors’ Association and Medical Students Felicitate Chief Minister
Raipur, March 16, 2026// Delegation of doctors’ association and medical students paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai at the his residential office in Raipur and expressed their gratitude to him for the state being allotted two DM (Cardiology) seats.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said the state government remains committed to expanding healthcare facilities across Chhattisgarh. The government is consistently giving priority to the education and health sectors to ensure that citizens receive accessible and quality healthcare services.
He said continuous efforts are being made to strengthen healthcare centres in the state by providing not only basic infrastructure but also advanced medical services.
Chief Minister noted that there was a time when the state had only one medical college with around 100 to 150 seats. Today, 14 medical colleges have been established across different parts of the state with around 1,400 seats. In addition, institutions for physiotherapy, nursing and other higher medical education programmes have also been set up, benefiting students from across the state.
He added that a Medico City is being developed in Nava Raipur, where major super-speciality hospitals will be established to provide advanced medical care to the people.
Chief Minister Shri Sai expressed gratitude to Union Health Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda for allocating two DM (Cardiology) seats to Chhattisgarh.
Shri Tulsi Kaushik, Dr. Devendra Kashyap, and a large number of medical college students and junior doctors were present on the occasion.
