Students of The Great India Sainik School Secure Third Place in National Military Pipe Band Competition; Chief Minister Shri Sai Congratulates

Raipur, March 16, 2026 / Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai met students of The Great India Sainik School, Raipur, Sunday evening at his residence office in the state capital during a courtesy visit.

Chief Minister Shri Sai congratulated and extended his best wishes to the students for securing the third prize in the national-level Military Pipe Band Competition. He said that this achievement has brought recognition not only to their school but also to the entire Chhattisgarh at the national level. He added that it is a matter of pride for the state and a significant accomplishment.

On this occasion, the school’s director Shri Siddharth Singh, Commandant (Retd.) Colonel Shri R.K. Verma, along with other teachers and students of the school, were present.

It is noteworthy that the national-level Military Pipe Band Competition is organised every year by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Defence, in which Sainik Schools from across the country participate. For the first time in the history of Chhattisgarh, The Great India Sainik School, Raipur has secured the third position at the national level in this competition.

The competition begins at the district level and progresses to the state, zonal and national levels. Chhattisgarh is part of the South Zone, which includes Sainik Schools from states such as Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
