Daughter of Chhattisgarh Brings Pride to the State; Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Honours Akanksha Satyavanshi
Raipur, March 14, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday honoured Mrs Akanksha Satyavanshi, physiotherapist of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team and a proud daughter of Chhattisgarh, at a dignified ceremony held at his residence in Nava Raipur. On the occasion, the Chief Minister presented her with a Tata Sierra car as a token of appreciation.
Congratulating Mrs Satyavanshi, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the daughters of the country have brought immense pride to the nation by winning the World Cup. He also appreciated the initiative of Tata Motors in recognising and encouraging the members of the women’s cricket team by presenting them with cars as a mark of honour.
Shri Sai remarked that Chhattisgarh is rich in sporting talent and that the State Government is working with dedication and commitment to promote sports. He said that the continuous development of sports infrastructure in the state is enabling athletes to receive better training, helping them deliver outstanding performances at national and international levels. The Chief Minister added that initiatives such as the Bastar Olympics and Surguja Olympics are encouraging youth from remote regions of the state to actively participate in sports. He also noted that the opportunity for Chhattisgarh to host the National Tribal Games has further created a positive environment for the growth of sports in the state.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that the historic achievement of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team would inspire daughters across the state to pursue their dreams and move forward with confidence. Recalling his earlier interaction with Akanksha Satyavanshi, he said that her confidence and energy had been deeply inspiring then as well, and the same enthusiasm was evident in her today. He expressed confidence that this spirit would continue to lead the team to greater success in future World Cup tournaments.
Encouragement from the Chief Minister Always Strengthens My Resolve: Akanksha Satyavanshi
Mrs Akanksha Satyavanshi said that after the team returned with the World Cup victory, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai was the first to extend his encouragement and appreciation to the entire team. As a daughter of Chhattisgarh, she said, she was personally invited by the Chief Minister to meet him. She added that the affection and encouragement extended by Chief Minister Shri Sai, much like that of a guardian, always boosts her morale.
Mrs Satyavanshi said that receiving this honour from Chief Minister had made the day truly memorable for her and that the moment would remain special throughout her life. She also shared her experiences as a physiotherapist with the team and spoke about the journey that culminated in the historic World Cup victory.
On the occasion, Chairman of the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Dr Rampratap Singh, members of Mrs Satyavanshi’s family, and representatives of Tata Motors were present.
Notably, Tata Motors has been presenting Tata Sierra SUVs to members of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team in recognition of their historic triumph in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. As part of this initiative, Mrs Akanksha Satyavanshi, a resident of Chhattisgarh and physiotherapist of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, was also presented with a Tata Sierra today.
The Indian Women’s Cricket Team created history last year by winning its first Women’s World Cup title. In honour of this remarkable achievement, Tata Motors had announced that each member of the team would be presented with the top-end model of the Sierra SUV.
