A center equipped with day-care facilities for senior citizens: yoga, health, recreation, and skill development services available under one roof

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday inaugurated the state-of-the-art day-care center \u201cSiyan Gudi\u201d developed for senior citizens in Jashpur. On this occasion, he encouraged the elderly by playing carrom with them and established a warm interaction. The senior citizens appeared very happy to have the Chief Minister among them and expressed gratitude for the \u201cSiyan Gudi\u201d developed by the state government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai distributed food baskets to the elderly on this occasion and honored them by presenting religious books, shawls, and coconuts. Highlighting the state government\u2019s commitment to the respect and care of senior citizens, he said that Chhattisgarh is known for its rich cultural traditions and family values, but society is rapidly changing. Due to the growing trend of nuclear families, migration of youth for employment, and busy lifestyles, many elderly people face loneliness and neglect during the day. He said this loneliness affects not only emotional well-being but also mental and physical health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the \u201cDay-Care Center \u2013 Siyan Gudi\u201d has been conceptualized to address these challenges. This center will serve as a strong hub of respect, warmth, and active engagement for senior citizens, where they can spend their day in a safe environment and gain renewed energy and enthusiasm. While inspecting the center, the Chief Minister appreciated the facilities available and described it as an ideal initiative for senior citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that through \u201cSiyan Gudi,\u201d the state government has taken an important step towards making the lives of senior citizens more dignified, active, and happy, which will strengthen social harmony and also infuse new energy into family values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is noteworthy that this \u201cSiyan Gudi\u201d center, located on Bhaglapur Road behind Ranjita Stadium in Jashpur, has been developed as a comprehensive day-care unit for senior citizens, with the main objective of providing multiple services at one place. Facilities such as yoga, pranayama, recreation, cultural and community activities, digital and financial literacy, and skill development training will be provided here. Along with this, arrangements have been ensured for primary health check-ups, availability of basic medicines, tele-consultation, health awareness sessions, physiotherapy, and exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, the center will also provide legal and family counseling to senior citizens. In cases of neglect or abuse, immediate assistance will be available through the National Helpline number 14567 and the State-level Siyan Helpline number 155326. From the perspective of facilities, \u201cSiyan Gudi\u201d has been developed as a modern center, offering a barrier-free environment, wheelchair access, comfortable seating arrangements, gender-separate friendly toilets for people with special abilities, a spacious hall for group activities, a library, and a quiet reading corner. It also includes TV, radio, CCTV, a biometric attendance system, a primary health testing desk, monthly medical consultation and other facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On this occasion, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Board Shri Rampratap Singh, MLA Pathalgaon Smt. Gomti Sai, Jashpur MLA Smt. Raymuni Bhagat, Municipal Vice Chairman Shri Yash Pratap Singh Judev, Shri Prabal Pratap Singh Judev, Commissioner of Surguja Division Shri Narendra Dugga, Police Commissioner Shri Deepak Kumar Jha, Collector Shri Rohit Vyas, Senior Superintendent of Police Shri Lal Umed Singh, along with other public representatives and senior citizens, were present.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
